Crysta Derham

Clinical Psychologist

Crysta completed her training at Victoria University and has over 10 years experience working in private practice, previously in Melbourne and now in Wellington.

Crysta loves working as a psychologist and she sees people across the life span. She enjoys supporting parents and families experiencing childhood anxiety, school refusal, or difficult behaviour, as well as working with adults navigating life changes, relationships, anxiety, depression, and stress. Crysta is passionate about women’s health and experienced in working with LGBTQ+ clients.

Crysta previously worked within an adolescent mental health hospital team and has a special interest in working with young people experiencing anxiety, bullying, depression, low self-esteem, and adjustment difficulties.

Crysta provides a comfortable and safe space for people to better understand their difficulties. She has a collaborative approach to tailoring evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, EMDR, and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions).

Crysta is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board in the Clinical scope of practice and is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.
